We had a wonderful snowy day and with a grandpa in town, it was perfect timing for us to both be able to attend Left Hand Brewing Company‘s Tap Take Over at Billy Jacks Wing and Draft Shack and Jack Brown’s Joint.
The best part is that it was our buddy Dan’s last trip to Harrisonburg as Left Hand’s rep. Poor man has spent many a night at our place while doing various Left Hand events in the Valley and now he’ll be sticking closer to the Philly area with his promotion. Billy Jack’s and Jack Brown’s came up with the best plan to surprise Left Hand Dan, who is known for his signature hunter’s blaze orange and mustache.
The line up at both bars was pretty crucial for Left Hand fans as well. Left Hand celebrated their 20 anniversary in ’13 and brought some favorite recipes out of retirement. Several of the options tonight were a one time chance to try some Left Hand brews we may not see again.
At Jack Brown’s:
– Jackman’s Pale Ale
– Oak Aged Widdershins
– Motherlode Golden Ale
– Mr Black
– Milk Stout
At Billy Jack’s:
– Safety Round #2
– Ambidextrous Ale # 5 – Sticke Alt
– Deep Cover Brown Ale
– Motherlode Golden Ale
– Munich Dunkel Lager
– Dunkel Wiess
– St. Vrain Tripel
– Milk Stout
– Sawtooth Ale NITRO
– Black Jack Porter
– Stranger Pale Ale
– Polestar Pilsner
– 400 lb. Monkey IPA
I had quite a few tastes at both locations. As for Dan, I was definitely party to several conversations about the atrocity that is Congo (the motion picture) and I found several photos of Tim Curry on my phone the next day. hmmm…
thanks for all the memories Left Hand Dan!
